Common Pulls The Plug On This Year's AAHH! Fest

Common's growing festival to benefit the local Chicago community has been 86'd for this year.

(AllHipHop News) Common's on again/off again AAHH! Fest is off again for 2017.

The rapper was supposed to host the semi-annual AAHH! Fest at Union Park on September 23-24, but he decided to pull the plug on the event at the last minute.

According to Tamara Brown, General Manager of AAHH! Fest LLC, the AAHH! Fest will return in 2018, so Common can focus on making it even bigger and better than last year's event.

"To achieve the of IMPACT and SERVICE truly needed in Chicago, we are retooling this initiative to create an experience that goes far beyond an outdoor music event," said Tamara Brown.

Common originally launched the AAHH! Fest in 2014, with performances from Lupe Fiasco, Dave Chappelle, Jay Electronica, De La Soul MC Lyte and Lil Herb.

The festival took a hiatus for 2015 but returned in 2016 with performances from Chance the Rapper, J. Cole, The Roots and Vic Mensa.

According to Brown, Common is already working to ensure the next AAHH! Fest will live up to its reputation as one of the top growing festivals in Chicago.
