(AllHipHop News) Common continues to give back to his community, and not just through his fire music.

The Chicago rapper has been working with real-estate developers on building a huge movie studio campus as part of the South Works redevelopment.

According to The Chicago Tribune, they will be working together to draw up plans which will convert the former U.S. Steel plant posted on Chi-Town’s south lakefront.

Common and the developers are constructing a huge movie production campus with “live entertainment venues, sports facilities, hotels, homes, and shops.”

So far, the blueprint reveals a 415-acre landscape, which he hopes will spur job growth in the area.

Common and the developers are in talks with potential investors, as they await approval from the city for the $71 million project.
