(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar has already cemented himself in Hip Hop history with his critically-acclaimed discography and notable career accomplishments. All the way back in 2011, several legendary Los Angeles rappers were already willing to set-up the Compton emcee to be the next king of California.
Fellow Cali music icons Cypress Hill recently sat down with Montreality. The conversation included Sen Dog and B-Real discussing the parallels between K. Dot and previous West Coast monarch Tupac Shakur.
"[Kendrick] helped bring the coast back with a few others," said B-Real.
The Prophets of Rage member added, "He definitely has the side that Pac had to him, that one dynamic that translated to both worlds where he could be in the pop world and be right here on the street level. He's a very special emcee and his songwriting abilities are off the f-cking chain."
Lamar has professed to growing up listening to Pac albums such as All Eyez On Me and Me Against The World. The TDE recording artist also included a fictional conversation with the late superstar on "Mortal Man” which lives on the To Pimp A Butterfly project.
