(AllHipHop News) Damon Dash is having a rough week when it comes to lawsuits.
The rap star was just hit with another lawsuit over a movie called "Mafietta," which he was supposed to help produce with the Edwyna Brooks, the author of the book series of the same name.
According to a lawsuit obtained by The Blast, Brooks made her book into a short-film and attended a workshop run by Dame down in Charlotte, North Carolina back in 2015.
Dame agreed to direct the flick, so Brooks went ahead and hired a production crew, cast, and crew, even though she never had a formal agreement with the Roc-A-Fella founder.
Brooks claims when it came time to direct the film, Damon was unfocused and started squandering the money meant for the movie on side projects, including a video for Murda Mook.
Edwyna Brooks said she fired Dame, but he keeps promoting the movie and passing it off as his own.
Brooks is asking a judge to declare her the rightful owner of the film, and ban Dame from promoting or marketing the flick.
The lawsuit is similar to a lawsuit filed by a producer of a film called "Dear Frank," which he claims Damon was supposed to produce.
But he allegedly came to work intoxicated on multiple occasions and after he was fired, Dame started marketing the movie as his as well, under a title called "The List.
Earlier this week, the producer of "Dear Frank" won an injunction against Dame to stop him from promoting his version of that film as well.
