It's August - the effort to repeal and replace Obamacare collapsed, Special Counsel Robert Mueller is allegedly investigating members of Trump's inner circle, and the President's approval rating hit a new low of 33%.
So what does Chappelle now think about the current resident in the White House?
During an appearance on TheLate Show With Stephen Colbert, the comedic giant spoke about Donald Trump.
"In the last six months, I think we’re all getting an education about the presidency," said Chappelle. "I don’t know if I’ve ever heard, in just popular discourse, people discussing ethics this much. He’s putting all this stuff on the forefront."
The headliner of an upcoming 16-date stand-up comedy residency at Radio City Music Hall also compared Trump to his predecessor President Barack Obama.
“I think it speaks to how effective Obama's presidency was... Donald Trump’s the other foot - good foot, bad foot," Chappelle offered. "I think [Trump's] going to make a more informed and better voter. We'll figure it out."
The Chappelle's Show creator continued, "He’s a polarizing dude. He’s like a bad DJ at a good party.”
