(AllHipHop News) A designer who has worked with Kanye West for several years, is breaking her silence about a controversy caused by singer Lorde.
Lorde claimed Kanye West and Kid Cudi jacked the look and feel of her stage by appearing in a glass box their first performance as Kids See Ghosts at Camp Flog Gnaw over the weekend.
At issue is the cuboid box suspended above the stage, which Lorde claims she used first during her performance at Coachella in 2017 and during her "Melodrama" tour.
“I’m proud of the work I do, and it’s flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they choose to try it on themselves,” she wrote on Instagram, pairing images of her tour with images of West and Kid Cudi’s performance. “But don’t steal – not from women or anyone else – not in 2018 or ever.”
The stage was designed by Es Devlin, who worked with Ye on all of his major tours.
Kanye has not responded to Lorde's accusations, but it seems like Es Devlin has put Lorde in her place with a post on Instagram.
"CARMEN by Georges Bizet , English National Opera 2007," she wrote in reference to the stage she designed for a play by Bizet.
