Detroit's Top Hip-Hop Station Bans Kanye West's Music

Fans of Kanye West won't hear him on Detroit's #1 hip-hop station.

(AllHipHop News) A radio show in Detroit, Michigan has banned Kanye West's music from the airwaves over his controversial remarks about slavery.

105.1 The Bounce's DJs BiGG and Shay Shay hammered the "Stronger" hitmaker on air for suggesting slavery was a "choice" for African-Americans and now station bosses have launched a #MuteKanye campaign via Facebook.

During their show, popular host Shay Shay said she was tired of listening to Kanye, and now in the Facebook post, she states that she and her on-air partner "don’t want to hear Kanye’s music, we don’t want to play Kanye on our show, we don’t want to talk about Kanye anymore."

Kanye has yet to respond.

Black as night young fella. It's dumb to me because they continue to play music from artist who were killers, theives, beat women, etc but that's cool. You wanna ban a dude over that?!? But Eminem is OK? It's dumb my man. Need more Love. His statement was completely ignorant you're correct. But if we ban him for that? You have got to ban them all. And since that will not happen, and shouldn't, it's dumb. And it won't last.
