(AllHipHop News) Cardi B has accused Nicki Minaj of trying to "stop bags." Now a newTMZ article suggests Minaj's issues with Cardi may end up costing Tekashi 6ix9ine a 6-figure payment from Fashion Nova.
The celebrity news website reports that 6ix9ine agreed to a deal with Fashion Nova that would include the rapper shouting out the clothing company on his Dummy Boy album. However, when the project dropped yesterday the line on "MAMA" was changed from "splish splash Fashion Nova make that ass fat" to "splish splash Apple Bottoms make that ass fat."
Nicki Minaj - who is featured on "MAMA" - was apparently upset about the brand name-drop because her rival Cardi B was working with Fashion Nova for an exclusive collection. As a result, Minaj allegedly asked Tekashi to remove the mention of FN from the song.
Not only was the track altered, but 6ix9ine was also forced to cancel the record's music video which was set to feature the Fashion Nova logo in the clip. The New York rhymer had to cut the seeable because a shooting took place while filming the visuals in California.
There was also speculation that 6ix9ine hired Angels Strip Club bartenders Jade and Baddie to do cameos in the "MAMA" video. Jade and Baddie are the sisters that accused Cardi of assaulting them at the NYC club in August.
Fashion Nova reportedly paid 6ix9ine the full amount from their deal up front, but the company has not requested the money back yet. Tekashi (born Daniel Hernandez) is currently facing a federal trial for racketeering and firearm charges, and he is being held in jail without bail.
This is not the first time Nicki Minaj has been accused of preventing another artist from having any type of connection with Cardi B. Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked claimed the 35-year-old Hip Hop superstar blocked Future from appearing on Cardi's Invasion of Privacy album.
