Diddy Breaks Record With Shopping Channel Appearance

Celebrated entrepreneur and mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was a hit in the US with his appearance Monday (November 30) and yesterday (December 1) on the Home Shopping Network.

Combs’ guest spot served to hawk several items from his Sean John fragrance line, along with a bonus bath robe for purchasers of his holiday set.

The Bad Boy CEO announced his new woman’s fragrance Empress, which will be the female equivalent to his cologne I Am King.

"I have a very sensitive nose. I don't like things to be overbearing and this is not that type of fragrance,” Combs assured his female viewers. “It's a very clean scent, a very sensual, seductive scent. It's the type of scent you want to get up close and personal with.”

Diddy’s presentation won over viewers, and the Home Shopping Network reported the mogul’s entire scent collection sold out in the 15 minutes following his appearance, setting a new sales record.

“I wish I could just jump through the screen and give you a hug, girl,” Combs said to a swooning female caller. “I want to thank you for buying!”

The Home Shopping Network has seen a surge in their business due to the economic climate forcing normally free spenders to shop carefully for deals and sales. Last year alone, the network posted $45.5 million in revenue.
