Director Hype Williams To Be Honored During VH1’s “Hip Hop Honors”

VH1 will give director Hype Williams some much-deserved props for his work creating dope hip-hop videos.

(AllHipHop News) Legendary hip-hop director Hype Williams will be one of the many people honored during the upcoming “VH1 Hip Hop Honors” special.

VH1 recently announced that the this year's “Hip Hop Honors” will focus on the achievements and artists from the 1990s.

So far, Missy Elliott and Mariah Carey have been announced as honorees, and now Hype Williams has been added to the list.

According to Billboard, Hype Williams will be celebrated for his work to elevate the visual medium of hip-hop culture.

Over the years, Hype Williams helped transformed the hip-hop music video, by shooting big-budget, cinematic pieces for artists like Jay-Z, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, M.O.P., The Notorious B.I.G. and others.

Additionally, Hype was the director behind the hip-hop called classic, “Belly” which starred DMX, Nas, and Tionne T-Boz Watkins.
