(AllHipHop News) DJ Akademiks is a polarizing figure in the culture. Some critics take issue with Ak's controversial content such as "The War In Chiraq" YouTube series and the regular re-posting of clips by internet star Boonk.
There have also been public confrontations on Everyday Struggle from celebrities such as Wale, Vic Mensa, and Ashanti. Former co-host Joe Budden even revealed on his podcast that he had to step in behind-the-scenes to settle issues between Akademiks and rappers like 21 Savage and G Herbo.
Just this month, Akademiks lost Budden as a fellow ES panelist and he got into an online back-and-forth with Desus & Mero. The self-described "The Negrotiator" then became a trending topic on Twitter as the public began both criticizing and supporting him.
Apparently, one of those Ak advocates is stylist/model Ian Connor. Akademiks posted a tweet which included footage of him speaking with Connor, and the A$AP Mob affiliate slammed people "hating" on Akademiks because he got "the sauce."
Some Twitter users began suggesting Connor may not be the best ally for Akademiks because Ian was accused of being a serial rapist. This came after Akademiks has been under fire for giving an inaccurate interview with 6ix9ine where the New York rapper downplayed the allegations connected to him pleading guilty to the use of a child in a sexual performance.
