The project's RIAA certification was bolstered by two hits from 2018 and several new songs.

(AllHipHop News) A lot of the conversation about DJ Khaled's 11th studio album, Father of Asahd, has centered around the We The Best founder's reported complaints about debuting at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart (136,000 units) behind Tyler, The Creator's IGOR (165,000 units). Father of Asahd may not be a national Number One, but Khaled does have something to celebrate.

The Recording Industry Association of America awarded the LP with a Gold plaque less than a month after its release. Father of Asahd hosts the Platinum-certified "No Brainer" featuring Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, and Quavo as well as the Gold-certified "Top Off" featuring Jay-Z, Future, and Beyoncé. Both singles were released in 2018.

Additionally, Khaled recruited John Legend and Nipsey Hussle for the Father of Asahd track "Higher." SZA carried the "Just Us" record while Cardi B and 21 Savage collaborated for the Top 20 hit "Wish Wish." Plus, Meek Mill, J Balvin, Lil Baby and Jeremih appear on "You Stay." Even though Father of Asahd was not able to hit the top spot on the Billboard 200, the project did lead the Top Rap Albums chart for two weeks.

DJ Khaled is set to perform as part of a Nipsey Hussle tribute at the 2019 BET Awards on June 23. YG, Mustard, and John Legend will also honor the late California rapper.
