DJ Premier Discusses Unreleased Rick Ross Verse Recorded For Drake's 'Scorpion'

There was almost another Drizzy-Rozay collab.

(AllHipHop News) Legendary producer DJ Premier was one of the people to provide beats for Drake's new album Scorpion. Premo worked on the track "Sandra's Rose."

Ebro Darden caught up with Premier for Beats 1 Radio. The PRhyme member revealed Rick Ross had a verse on another track titled "Sail" that was being considered for Drake's fifth studio LP.

"Drake never finished his vocal to it. He just gave me Rick Ross' verse because when they changed the tempo and said go ahead and do the drums that you originally did, they wanted the session so they could finish it," stated DJ Premier. "So I gave them that, but that was around the time my father passed, so I went home to Texas to get my father out of the hospital to take him home."

A Rozay feature on Scorpion would have been newsworthy because the two rap stars have not released a collaboration since the Drake/Meek Mill feud. Ross is the head of Maybach Music Group, the label home of Meek.
