DMX Continues Rehab Treatment As Tax Evasion Trial Looms

DMX is focusing on his mental health as he battles charges that he dodged millions in taxes.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper DMX is continuing his drug rehabilitation treatment ahead of his tax evasion trial.

The "Party Up (Up in Here)" musician, 46, appeared in Manhattan Federal Court at a hearing where his trial date was set for February.

He is accused of failing to pay $1.7 million in taxes to America's Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

In August DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was placed under was placed under house arrest after testing positive for cocaine and marijuana, a violation of his bail conditions.

He was given permission to check-in to a rehabilitation facility in New England to battle his demons, and outside the court his lawyer Stacey Richman updated fans on his progress, telling the New York Daily News that her client was still receiving treatment.

DMX also said, "I'm feeling good" as he left the New York City court.

The rehab stint is DMX's second this year, as in April he checked into a treatment center in California.

The father of four has a history of drug-related legal issues and was sentenced to six months in 2015 for failing to pay child support.
