(AllHipHop News) Don Cheadle is taking Miles Davis' legacy further ahead in his scope and In his campaign video posted on crowdfunding site Indiegoo, Cheadle explained the upcoming Miles Ahead film and hints that a few Hip Hop heavyweights could be included on the soundtrack.
Cheadle has been working closely with Miles Davis' nephew Vincent Wilburn Jr. and his son Erin Davis on this film which will chronicle the life of Miles Davis. According to Cheadle, Miles Davis referred to his music as "social music; the music of its time" and instead of simply crowdfunding the project with the fans, Davis' idea of "music of its time" will frame the Miles Ahead soundtrack:
This soundtrack is also going to be peppered with people from today. Keeping in the Miles Davis theme. Who knows who might show up on the soundtrack. Jay Z. DJ Skrillex. Kendrick Lamar. Dr. Dre. Nas. The possibilities are endless.
Currently, Miles Ahead has garnered over $300,000 of its $325,000 goal in less than a month and half since being started back on June 3rd. Most of the gifts for contributors are sold out however there are a few left that include all expense paid trip to to watch the editing of Miles Ahead before its release, an original Miles Davis sketch and more.
