(AllHipHop News) It really shouldn't be a surprise that Drake and Cardi B are racking up the most nominations for upcoming award shows. The OVO captain and the Bardi Gang leader have ruled the Billboard charts in 2018.
When it comes to the American Music Awards, both Cardi and Drake were nominated for 8 awards. Ed Sheeran and Post Malone followed with six nominations. Camila Cabello earned five.
Drake is up for Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist - Pop/Rock, Favorite Artist - Rap/Hip-Hop, Favorite Song - Pop/Rock ("God's Plan"), Favorite Album - Pop/Rock (Scorpion), Favorite Album - Rap/Hip-Hop (Scorpion), Favorite Song - Rap/Hip-Hop ("God's Plan"), and Favorite Music Video ("God's Plan").
Cardi is competing for Favorite New Artist Of The Year, Favorite Female Artist - Pop/Rock, Favorite Artist - Rap/Hip-Hop, Favorite Social Artist, Favorite Collaboration Of The Year ("Finesse" with Bruno Mars), Favorite Song - Soul/R&B ("Finesse" with Bruno Mars), Favorite Song - Rap/Hip-Hop ("Bodak Yellow"), and Favorite Music Video ("Bodak Yellow").
The 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards nominations were announced as well. Again, Drizzy and Bardi will go into the ceremony with the highest number of nods. The Hip Hop stars picked up 11 and 10, respectively.
Actor/musician Childish Gambino came in third with six nominations. Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar were right behind Gambino with five. J. Cole, The Carters (Beyoncé & Jay-Z), and Migos also scored multiple noms.
Drake will have the chance to win Album Of The Year (Scorpion), Lyricist Of The Year, Best Hip-Hop Video ("God's Plan"), MVP Of The Year, Hustler Of The Year, and other trophies. Cardi is also up for Album Of The Year (Invasion of Privacy), Best Hip-Hop Video ("I Like It" with Bad Bunny & J Balvin), MVP Of The Year, and Hustler Of The Year.
