Drake's OVO Fest will not be getting any funding from the Canadian government for this year's festivities, Billboard reports.
Blane McPhail, who is the press secretary to Honorable Michael Coteau, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, told Billboard that OVO Fest didn't meet the pre-determined criteria in the 2015 Celebrate Ontario Application Guide.
"We would encourage OVO Fest's organizers to reach out to the ministry and apply again next year," said McPhail.
Even though Drizzy was denied monies from Celebrate Ontario, the Ontario Music Fund did give $45,000 in provincial funding and got financial backing from other companies as well.
Through Celebrate Ontario 2015, the provincial government has provided funding for 270 events this year, totaling up to $19 million in grants.
The OVO Fest will take place on Aug. 2-Aug. 3rd at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. The event is reportedly sold out.
