(AllHipHop News) Drake unleashed his two-disc album, Scorpion, just one week ago, which had the OVO rapper admitting he actually was, in fact, hiding a child from the world.
While the initial projected numbers averaged close to a million units in a single week, the Toronto native surpasses this 1000 times over.
Billboard confirms the number of streams from all of Scorpion's tracks has accumulated more than one billion streams on a global scale, covering the dates June 29 to July 5.
This makes it the first album to reach such a milestone.
The previous record was held by Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys, which held a global record of 700 million streams in a week.
Drizzy shared the good news to his Instagram page with the caption, “New era. New platinum. Thank you a billion times over (a billion plus). 🦂”
