(AllHipHop News) Kanye West sparked a debate about being a "free thinker" after he expressed his support for Donald Trump and conservative commentator Candace Owens. While R&B legend Erykah Badu backed up West's ability to express his beliefs, the "Window Seat" vocalist says she does not want to be part of the "free thinking" crowd.
"So is 'free thinking' the new thing or something. I'm seeing that term a lot. Don't put me in the sh-t please. I see we about to run with this term for about 5 mo weeks now," tweeted Badu.
Some Twitter users challenged Erykah over seemingly backing individuals that sympathize with white supremacists. She was also questioned on why she hasn't called out alleged sexual abuser R. Kelly in the midst of the #MuteRKelly campaign.
"I encourage my child to speak her mind. And it doesn't anger me or make me stand in opposition if our points of view differ. It doesn't mean I have to agree or disagree either. I don't support any kind of oppression. That means oppression of the mind either. Ye's thoughts are his," wrote the 47-year-old Texas native.
She added on Kelly, "So, because I can clearly express and understand the psychological thinking of the condemned, you assume I support their alleged actions? Where is the reasoning?"
"Naw baby, It is not only my intent to sympathize with ALL people including the oppressive, but it is also my nature. However, Never would I EVER tolerate, nor support the actions of cruelty. That would be unintelligent. So take me out of that please fam. You misunderstand," posted Badu last night.
