(AllHipHop News) Boyce Watkins is currently crisscrossing the country for the Black Economic Empowerment Tour. During his stop in New York City, the author and social commentator sat down with AllHipHop.com's Chuck Creekmur to talk about hosts of topics.
The interview includes Watkins discussing the history of Black Wall Street, Hollywood's attraction to slave movies, his conflicts with Lil Wayne & Tyler The Creator, the power of Black entertainers, and collaborating with Dame Dash.
"I think the biggest thing people get wrong [about Dash] - number 1, that he's broke. he's not broke. He is an entrepreneur that can end up cash strapped sometimes," says Watkins. "Sometimes you can be very wealthy have no money at all. Sometimes you can be broke and have lots of money, lots of cash. People who get pay checks don't understand that."
He continued, "A lot of the people that get paychecks, a lot of us don't own anything. Where as he owns a lot of things that are worth millions of dollars."
