(AllHipHop News) The hip-hop community continues to mourn the loss of XXXTentacion.
Police believe the rapper was stalked and robbed by three suspects.
One man, Dedrick D. Williams, 22, is already in custody and charged with first-degree murder, while police are still looking for two other men involved in the killing.
Recently, Jimmy Duval, co-producer of XXX's standout single “Look At Me,” paid homage to the Florida rapper with a new portrait tattoo.
“It’s obviously heartbreaking for everyone that worked with him, to know that he’s no longer with us," Jimmy Duval told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview.
"I think for the creative community as a whole, it’s heartbreaking because he was such a groundbreaking artist. He was always finding new ways to break the rules and reinvent himself, when so many artists are working to emulate what others are doing," Jimmy Duval said.
Jimmy found success with XXXTentacion in 2015, thanks to "Look At Me," which landed the deceased rap star a distribution deal with Empire.
The single shot to #34 on the Billboard Top 100 Singles chart, and eventually went on to be certified platinum.
XXXTentacion released his debut studio album 17, which landed at #2 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart in August of 2017, powered by the singles "Jocelyn Flores" and "Fuck Love."
XXX's second album ? was released in March of 2017 and topped the Billboard Top 200 Album chart.
According to Jimmy Duval, XXXTentacion influenced his entire creative process and pushed him even further as a producer.
"To lose someone like that, whose influenced my creative process and the creative process of everyone that I know, that knows him, is a huge loss to the community," Jimmy Duval told AllHipHop.com. "We were robbed of someone who was poised to be one of the greatest talents of our time and robbed of a lot of great music.”
This Wednesday, XXXTentacion's life will be honored during a memorial service organized by his business associate and family at Florida Panthers stadium.
Jimmy will be among those present, mourning and celebrating the rapper's impact during his brief existence.
"All that we can do as creatives that were blessed to work with him is to carry the torch and in his honor, create great music that honors his legacy, his light, and his passion for going outside of the norm," Jimmy Duval told AllHipHop.com.
