Fabolous Compares 1990s Hip Hop To Modern-Day Hip Hop

The 'Friday On Elm Street' co-creator talks about conformity in the industry.

(AllHipHop News) Jadakiss and Fabolous connected with Mass Appeal for an Around the World video interview. The clip opens with Fab talking about the differences between Hip Hop of the 1990s and Hip Hop of today.

"I always looked at the 90s where it was so many different genres and different styles. A lot of things that's going on now - people are just trying to be successful so they're just copying the last success," offered Fabolous. "But when everybody's gotta look like this, everybody's gotta have colorful dreads, that's where it goes wrong."

The Brooklyn spitter continued, "This is not against colorful dreads. It's about everybody trying to have colorful dreads so they can fit in so you can look at them so they can be accepted."

Fabolous teamed up with Jadakiss for the 2017 collaborative project Friday on Elm Street. The album debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 chart with 33,000 units in its first week.
