Fans Sign Petition To Rename Crenshaw/Slauson Intersection To Nipsey Hussle Way

Thousands of supporters want to permanently commemorate the Grammy-nominated rap star.

(AllHipHop News) People are still mourning the death of Ermias "Nipsey Hussle" Asghedom. Following the Victory Lap creator’s murder on March 31, an outpouring of prayers and condolences took over social media.

Supporters of the late emcee are now looking to officially immortalize him in his hometown. A new Change.org petition is calling on Los Angeles City Council member Marqueece Harris-Dawson to name a street after Nipsey Hussle.

“This is a call for LA Councilman Harris-Dawson to name the intersection of Crenshaw and Slauson. Nipsey Hussle way. In honor of a community icon. Please call or email Councilman Harris-Dawson to let him know you support this effort,” reads the description on the petition’s website page. As of press time, over 200,000 people have signed the digital request.

Asghedom was shot outside his Marathon Clothing store located at Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Two other individuals were wounded in the shooting. On Tuesday, the LAPD arrested 29-year-old Eric Holder for the homicide.
