As crucial primary elections and presidential caucuses take place in South Carolina today (January 19) and Nevada, two-time Grammy Award winning radio personality Fat Man Scoop and his wife Shanda are doing their part to help determine the fate of the United States.
Fat Man Scoop and his wife Shanda are using the popularity of their online television show, Man and Wife, to encourage viewers and fans to register to vote.
The couple-turned-talk show hosts have announced a voter registration drive, by launching a contest in which one lucky viewer will win the chance to appear on an episode of the show, which airs on ManandWife.tv.
"We have found a way to make registering to vote fun and sexy," Shanda explained. "Each time you have sex with your partner, Scoop and I challenge you to convince someone to go register to vote."
Each time contestants successfully obtain a new registration which can be completed locally, via telephone, or at www.register-vote.com they are asked to send an email to Scoop and Shanda.
Once this years presidential elections have taken place, the contestant with the most entries will join Scoop and Shanda in bed for an entire episode of Man and Wife.
"We thought it [would] be an excellent idea to start now, because many people arent registered," Shanda told AllHipHop.com. "We figure, [if] we start the campaign to register now, it would definitely allow for more voters on election day making their votes count! "We believe in just encouraging people to use their voices with their votes," she continued. "We dont plan to endorse any candidates."
Deadlines for voter registration vary from state to state, but typically range from 30 days before any given election, to 10 days before.
