(AllHipHop News) It's been a wild couple of weeks for Tekashi69. The Brooklyn rapper is dealing with serious legal issues as the federal government mounts a racketeering case against him.
Despite currently being locked up without bail, 6ix9ine let loose his debut studio album Dummy Boy on Tuesday. There was a lot of hype around the project, and it quickly rose up the iTunes charts.
But where is Dummy Boy predicted to land on the Billboard 200 chart? HitsDailyDouble crunched the early numbers, and Tekashi is on pace to compile 60,000 - 65,000 first-week units.
That sales range could be enough to give the controversial entertainer his first #1 album. His Day69 mixtape opened at #4 earlier this year with 55,000 units.
Travis Scott's former chart-topper AstroWorld (60,000 - 65,000 units) appears to be competing for the pole position, thanks to new direct to consumer purchases. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born soundtrack (54,000 - 59,000) is also in the race for Number One.
Tekashi is at a disadvantage against his competition because Dummy Boy only had three tracking days. It was originally scheduled to come out on November 23 but got pushed back after 6ix9ine's arrest. Plus, the project leaked online before being officially released on November 27.
