(AllHipHop News) Floyd Mayweather Jr. has picked his next opponent and its none other than the steadily rising Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. The bout is set for Sept. 14 in Las Vegas.
Floyd, an undefeated fighter, made the announcement on Twitter yesterday, ending the speculation of who his next opponent would be.
The fight will be at the MGM Grand in Vegas.
Canelo, 22, is also undefeated in 42 fights. Mayweather has had 44 fights.
Some have charged that Floyd avoided Canelo to fight Robert Guerrero, who he easily bested earlier this month.
The fight with Canelo could yield a larger distinction for Mayweather, as its speculated that he'll get upwards of $50 million for the fight. That would make it his highest pay day ever.
Canelo defeated Austin Trout on April 20 in a unanimous decision.
