(AllHipHop News) Philadelphia emcee Freeway joined with Justice League NYC for the #March2Justice #WhyWeMarch #BlackLivesMatter rally against police brutality. The march began in New York City on March 13 and culminates in Washington DC today (April 21) on the National Mall.
The march was organized to demand police accountability and reforms in response to the recent killings of unarmed African-Americans such as Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, and others. Freeway will be joined by legendary actor Danny Glover, Empire star Jussie Smollett, rapper/activist Jasiri X, Hip Hop Chess Federation's Quadir Lateef, and more.
"Police brutality isn't new. All across this country, the 'hood has been at odds with the police for as long as there have been 'hoods," says Freeway. "But in 2015, the issue has become an epidemic, and I feel it's only right that I use my voice and influence to help wake up the community and the leadership. Black lives matter. All lives matter."
