(AllHipHop News) Thousands are expected to gather in Downtown Houston to party under the stars for the 16th Annual Texas Black Expo outdoor concert.

A main feature of the event offers Grammy winner Elle Varner, Lil Keke and TBE's 2017 Showcase Winner, Vannah Blaq (formerly known as Savannah Hoefnner) live and in concert. The TBE Summer Celebration goes from June 6-9.

TBE has also extended the registration deadline and artists can now submit their music through May 22 to be considered and to qualify for the competition.

Organizers of the event have encouraged indie artists to compete at the Party in the Park Artist Showcase ."From the total entries, 6 finalists will be selected to compete live on stage at Party in the Park for a chance to win $1,000 grand prize, publicity appearances and a live performance at the 2020 showcase." a statement said.

The Texas Black Expo's influence and goal extends beyond entertainment, as it is a nonprofit and economic development organization that empowers at-risk businesses and youth. It remains the largest minority business expo and festival in the southern region of the United States. Thousands of attendees explore the offerings of vendors and corporate sponsors.

This year, the theme is "Next Level Business: Educating. Investing. Expanding," which includes influential speakers, business development seminars, health and wellness exhibits, beauty demos, women’s forums and more. “This is our 16th year of Texas Black Expo making a positive impact in the community through our mission of stimulating grown, strengthening businesses and inspiring youth,” said Texas Black Expo CEO Jerome Love. “With a theme of ‘Next Level Business: Educating. Investing. Expanding.’ we’re focusing on helping businesses and the greater Texas community grow to a new level of success.”
