Guapdad 4000 Reflects On ‘Revenge Of The Dreamers III’ & Talks Upcoming Album With Illmind

The Scam Rap subgenre pioneer linked with the veteran producer and 88rising for a new project.

(AllHipHop News) Akeem “Guapdad 4000” Hayes’s lone entry on the Hot 100 chart came as a feature on “Costa Rica” off Dreamville and J. Cole’s Revenge Of The Dreamers III compilation. The star-studded track peaked at #75 on the Billboard rankings.

Guapdad 4000 spoke to Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1 about his own recently released Platinum Falcon Returns EP. During the conversation, the 28-year-old Californian also discussed his experience being part of the chart-topping, Platinum-certified ROTD3.

“That was the first time in my life where I got reassurance for my talent. That album really means something to me emotionally. All your life, even though you gotta have blind faith in yourself, there are still moments where you falter in your belief,” admitted Guapdad. “Being around all them n*ggas, me outrapping a lot of people, and seeing a lot of n*ggas fold, it was probably the greatest check I could ever have on my resumé.”

While promoting Platinum Falcon Returns, Guapdad 4000 is still concentrating on putting together more musical projects. The Zoink Gang member (with fellow Revenge Of The Dreamers III contributors JID, Smino, and Buddy) has two specific bodies of work that are supposedly on the way.

“I’m working on an album called The Glorious Falcon Death Dive. I can’t give you an ETA, because I’m about to drop an album with Illmind and 88rising. That’s what I’m focusing on finishing right now,” said Guapdad. “I still haven’t named it yet. It’s crazy. I got a record on there. I feel like I got one of them ones on there. I never felt like that before about a record… Might be my first one. And if it’s not, I’ll keep swinging. But I’ll swing extra hard on this one.”

Guapdad 4000’s forthcoming The Glorious Falcon Death Dive, as well as his untitled collaborative effort with East Coast producer Illmind and the Asian-centric 88rising media company, will follow other projects like Scamboy Color, Dior Deposits, and Platinum Falcon Tape, Vol. 1. The Platinum Falcon Returns EP arrived on August 14 with contributions from Denzel Curry, Deante’ Hitchcock, TyFontaine, and Boogie.
