Issa Rae To Produce ‘Rap Sh*t’ Series For HBO Max

The Emmy and Golden Globe nominee is continuing her working relationship with WarnerMedia.

(AllHipHop News) The HBO Max streaming service is set to launch in 2020. Several television veterans, such as Issa Rae, will produce programming for the platform.

According to Deadline, Rae will lead a half-hour series tentatively titled Rap Sh*t. The show will follow a Miami-based female rap group’s journey in the music industry.

Rae has a lot on her plate at the moment. The 34-year-old Insecure creator/actress is working on a Set It Off remake and spearheading a music label with Atlantic Records called Raedio.

HBO Max will also be home to series by Elizabeth Banks (Scrubs, 30 Rock) and Mindy Kaling (The Office, The Mindy Project). Kevin Reilly, chief content officer for HBO Max, stated, “These three incredible talents embody the distinct and diverse voices that will give flight to the quality HBO Max brand promise across all audiences.”
