Ithaca Shuts Down Campus Center After Floor Cracks During Rowdy J.I.D Show

J.I.D had the crowd poppin during a performance but almost made the floor cave in.

(AllHipHop News) The Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Life at Ithica has issued a statement over a rowdy concert featuring rapper J.I.D.

The Dreamville rapper was the featured performer at the Campus Center's Emerson Suites.

According to reports, hundreds of his fans started dancing in "synchronized" jumping rhythm, which resulted in visible flexing of the floor and on the ceiling of the food court on the floor below.

After just 20 minutes, the cops broke up the performance because he noticed the floor was starting to buckle under the fans' frenzied energy.

"Campus Center management and the Office of Public Safety worked with the performing artist to bring a stop to the jumping, and the show ended safely. No one was hurt, and both rooms were safely cleared with no injuries reported," according to Rosanna Ferro.

"The Office of Facilities is assessing the damage to both the floor and the ceiling in Emerson Suites and IC Square. Out of an abundance of caution, the college is closing Emerson Suites and IC Square until a structural assessment can be conducted by an engineer."

Several events had to be rescheduled as engineers fix up the floor/ceiling, and normal operations are expected to begin again later on today.
