J. Cole: Didn't Vote In The 2016 Presidential Election

J. Cole wasn't feeling Hillary Clinton, so he did not vote. Thoughts?

(AllHipHop News) J. Cole did not vote in the last U.S. presidential election.

Donald Trump was up against Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House in 2016, with the former host of The Apprentice eventually emerging victorious.

While many celebrities were vocal with their support of Hillary prior to voting, KOD star Cole has now admitted that he didn't rate Trump's opponent - so much so that he didn't even bother voting.

During an interview with Billboard, Cole was asked if he voted in 2016, to which he replied: "No, I didn't. Because Hillary Clinton wasn't somebody that was motivating me to go vote. If it was Bernie Sanders, I would've showed up and voted. I would've been the first one in line, no bulls##t. No disrespect to Hillary... I hate to be a person who's even promoting that I didn't vote."

Sanders had been one of the contenders in the presidential race until the primary election, after which he dropped out and backed Hillary to win. However, while Cole was a big supporter of Sanders, he never campaigned for him.

Explaining his reasons, the 33-year-old said: "Because I don't care to lend my voice for a politician at the end of the day."

And while Trump's presidency has so far been anything but smooth, the rapper is still pleased that it's not Hillary sitting in the Oval Office.

"With Trump in office, I love that America gets to see the truth," he mused. "If Hillary Clinton was in office, it would be the most f##king disingenuous s##t because everybody would be thinking that everything's cool because we got an incredibly qualified female president. Which would've been amazing on so many levels.

"But all the s##t we see right now would've still existed; it would've just been quiet. And I prefer this s##t to be out loud. I prefer an honest America. I prefer the world seeing that, yes, we're a country that is dumb enough - no disrespect - (that) we got duped into electing Donald Trump."
