(AllHipHop News) Rapper J. Cole honored the late Nipsey Hussle onstage on Saturday as he performed at his inaugural Dreamville Festival in North Carolina.
The hitmaker dedicated his track "Love Yourz" to Nipsey at the sold-out event in Raleigh, as video footage of the slain MC was shown on the big screens around the stage.
He also encouraged fans to keep holding up the lights on their cellphones to remember the tragic star and social activist, who was gunned down outside his Los Angeles clothing store on March 31.
J. Cole wasn't the only performer at the festival who had Nipsey in their thoughts - Big Sean delivered a somber freestyle during his set and reflected on his final text conversation with the 33-year-old.
"Was f##ked up what happened to Nipsey, that s##t is sickening/Texting each other like, 'We gon' get up soon'/Tell me how the f##k I feel now knowing we didn't?/And taught me next time I think, 'We got all the time in the world,' s##t, just know really it isn't...," he spit during the performance.
Sean concluded the tribute by thanking his late pal for inspiring him and so many others to do what they can to give back to their communities.
The first-ever "Dreamville Festival," which was postponed from September due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Florence, also featured sets by SZA, 21 Savage, Teyana Taylor, and 6LACK.
Nipsey is set to be laid to rest at a memorial service at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Thursday, April 11.
