(AllHipHop News) Rapper J Cole recently announced the opening date of his new HBO documentary “4 Your Eyez Only, A Dreamville Film.”

The effort is J. Cole’s second film as his “Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming” premiered on HBO last year.

Scott Lazer, the director of the rapper’s latest film told EW.com the purpose was to “give context” to Cole’s music because “You can’t really understand until you see the whole picture.”

4 Your Eyez Only is Cole’s fourth album about Cole’s friend, James McMillian Jr, who got caught up in the streets and was eventually murdered.

The documentary will feature musical performances from the album and testimonies from low-income residents in the south.

The film will show their struggles over housing, voting laws for felons, integration, and more frustrations.

“So many of us are hurting and we’re confused and we’re angry. I’m going to do it because I can’t depend on these people. I can’t depend on them,” one of the subjects confessed.

J Cole’s documentary “4 Your Eyez Only, A Dreamville Film” will premiere on Saturday, April 15 on HBO from 10-11 pm EST.
