(AllHipHop News) Jada Pinkett Smith has praised her husband Will Smith for always loving her, even when she was at her "worst."
The actress and host of Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk opened up on her marriage as she discussed the idea of long-term relationships versus the reality, with her guests "Jane the Virgin" star Justin Baldoni and rapper Wale.
Jada and Will have been very open about their marriage and last year they insisted they would never divorce.
The couple, who tied the knot on New Year's Eve in 1997, also don't describe themselves as married anymore, preferring the term "life partners."
"At the end of the day, to know that you have another person that can love you for all that you are ... Will has loved me through the worst of myself," she insisted to her guests. "And I have done the same. When somebody can love you in that way, it makes your faith in the world come together. ... I am 47 years old and I want you to know, that this is probably the first year of my life that I can say, 'I am happy,' because that’s how long the journey has been."
The "Girls Trip" star also spoke honestly about the "sacrifices" made during the couple's 21-year union and shared that relationships require a couple to love each other unconditionally despite their flaws.
"Let me tell you, nobody talks about the sacrifice, the deteriorating and dissolving of fantasies. You right now, have in your mind, your perfect woman," she told Wale, who is single. "And when you find that woman, she will be a goddess to you."
Jada explained that people fall in love with "the goddess, or the god" but then once the person reveals the "human being" inside them we have to learn to love that person too.
"The reason why it is so important to me to be able to stick it out, to really get to the true meaning of love, in my opinion, it is unconditional. It has to be because we are all too flawed," said Jada. "No matter how much work we do! It never ends."
