The horror flick brought in a lot of bucks.

(AllHipHop News) Jordan Peele's Us topped the weekend box office with $70.3 million. The motion picture now has the largest opening for an original horror film and the third largest opening of all-time for an R-rated horror film.

Roc Nation boss Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter applauded Peele's latest commercial success. Jay is quoted saying, "For US by US. Congrats on the #1 movie in the world."

Carter actually played a role in inspiring the Peele making Us which stars Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke. The filmmaker met the Hip Hop legend at a 2018 Oscar party. Peele asked Jay-Z how does he follow-up his hit Get Out, and the Brooklynite supposedly told him, "It doesn't matter. You already did that."

Us grossed more at its initial weekend box office than Peele's previous movie Get Out. That 2017 thriller opened with $33.3 million and went on to make more than $176 million domestically, becoming the third largest R-Rated horror film of all-time behind It ($327 million) and The Exorcist ($232 million).
