(AllHipHop News) Jay-Z is not having it.
Back in September, a lawyer representing Meek Mill’s judge sued Roc Nation and Amazon over an interview that was done over the Philly rapper’s legal case.
Now, Hov calls him on his bluff.
Coming in to defend his company, Jay Z filed documents against Charles Peruto, the attorney who was previously criticized of being biased against the rapper.
Peruto claims he was partaking in a Roc Nation documentary on Meek’s legal issues with the system.
Peruto claims the reporter asked him to speak “off record,” while the cameras allegedly kept sectretly rolling.
Peruto then sued both Roc and Amazon for being conned.
In documents his reply to the lawsuit, Jay-Z describes legal action by Peruto as “an effort to prevent the disclosure of statements [Peruto] made criticizing his client, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley, over her handling of criminal proceedings involving Robert Rihmeek William (professionally known as Meek Mill), and to squelch further reporting about his critical comments regarding his client.”
Jay-Z pointed out that Peruto ”neither asked to go off the record nor instructed the interviewer to stop recording.”
The request has been made to move the case out of the Philly court system, and into the federal courts.
