(AllHipHop News) The people of Puerto Rico are still in need of many supplies after Hurricane Maria struck the island two weeks ago. New York emcee Joell Ortiz is doing his part to help those American citizens.

On October 1st, Ortiz partnered with AK from Block Royal, New York State Assemblywoman Maritza Divla, and the Norwinds restaurant for a Puerto Rico Relief Drive.

"Puerto Rico is going through some of its hardest times. It's sad to see that a U.S. territory is being treated like a foreign country. But we will prevail," says Ortiz. "Over the weekend I was a part of a hurricane relief drive at Norwinds bar in Brooklyn. We were able to fill seven fifteen-foot trucks with food, water, pampers, batteries, etc. The people helping the people. We all we got."
