(AllHipHop News) Brooklyn emcee Joey Bada$$ is prepping to release his debut studio album B4.DA.$$ next Tuesday, and the 19-year-old rhymer is making his media rounds. One of those stops was with Bloomberg TV.
During the discussion with Pimm Fox on "Taking Stock," Joey recalled his path to becoming one of the most watched young Hip Hop stars at the moment. He also addressed the picture of President Barack Obama's daughter Malia wearing his group's t-shirt. The photo caused controversy after it appeared on Pro Era's Instagram page, reportedly leading to an investigation by the White House.
"It was amazing," said Joey when asked about seeing the young lady sporting a shirt with his crew's logo. "I was in Australia. I pretty much woke up one morning, looked at my phone, and I seen a whole bunch of my friends posting this picture of this girl in the Pro Era shirt. I was like, 'What's so special about this?' I didn't even know who she was."
Joey goes on to add that it was not until after he read the picture's comments that he understood the magnitude of the photo. He then posted the pic to his own IG page.
B4.DA.$$ is scheduled for release Tuesday, January 20. It includes production by Statik Selektah, DJ Premier, J Dilla, Kirk Knight, Chuck Strangers, and more.
