Juelz Santana Wrestles With Decision To Go To Jail Or Trial

Juelz Santana's family is about to endure a tough spot as the rapper prepares to do jail time on gun and drug charges.

(AllHipHop News) Juelz Santana has had some tremendous highs recently after getting engaged to his long love and releasing a new album with his Dipset brothers.

A plea deal would put the rapper in jail for 27-37 months, while going to trial could result in 47 to 57 months, he explained on the most recent episode of Love & Hip Hop: New York. On the show, Juelz was seen going to court for getting caught in possession of a handgun at an airport. The rapper fled the scene at the Newark Liberty International Airport in March before he was arrested.

“This whole situation has been an overwhelming nightmare. And even now, it’s coming down to the wire, and I still don’t know what decision I’m going to make," he said on the show.

Ultimately, Juelz said he took a deal. “So I decided to take the plea. I felt like it was the least selfish choice for my family. I still don’t have no full closure because at the end of the day, I know the final decision is on the judge. He could give me more time than I agreed on. Just when I felt like I was going to be getting some closure, the problems just begun.”

In addition to a loaded .38-caliber handgun, authorities found illegal Oxycodone pills inside the carry-on luggage that he abandoned.
