(AllHipHop News) Kanye West caught a lot of people's attention with his recent track "Facts" which featured the Chicago rapper calling out Nike. The G.O.O.D. Music founder has blasted the shoe company for several years. Ye has suggested Nike is a greedy corporation that does not truly value the entertainers and athletes on its payroll.
But how much does money influence Kanye's business decisions? TMZ caught up with the Swish album creator to see if he was willing to sign with Nike for a billion dollar contract.
"It's not about the money, it's about the respect," said Kanye. "Adidas is my family."
West had once collaborated with Nike to release the Air Yeezys. He later teamed up with Adidas, citing the company's willingness to share more revenue over time.
Kanye said in an interview, "So the old me, without a daughter, would have taken the Nike deal because I just love Nike so much. But the new me, with a daughter, takes the Adidas deal because I have royalties, and I have to provide for my family.”
