Kash Doll Addresses Whether Sex Appeal Is Important For A Female Rapper

The rhymer from Detroit discusses women in Hip Hop showing skin.

(AllHipHop News) There have been both complaints and cheers concerning women in Hip Hop being overtly sexual. From Salt-N-Pepa’s "Let's Talk About Sex" to Lil Kim’s "Magic Stick" to Cardi B’s "Bickenhead,” many of the ladies - like their male counterparts - have not been shy about addressing erotic topics.

Female rappers have also used fashion and imagery to show off their sex appeal. During a sit down with DJ Smallz, rising rhymer Kash Doll talked about femcees being seductive with their personal persona.

“I just feel like you’re an artist. It’s art. My body is art, baby. You can be sexy and not trashy. You can be classy and still show skin. It’s the way you carry yourself. I don’t think there’s nothing wrong with showing skin. You’re supposed to look different,” said Kash. “If you notice the female artists that have been big show skin, except for like Lauryn Hill. She didn’t really talk about that, so it depends on the artist.”

When asked if sex appeal is important for female rappers, Kash responded, “For a sexy, beautiful rapper… yeah, you have to leave something for them to lust over... or a lot.”
