Katt Williams, Suge Knight Ordered To Pay For Destroying Camera
(AllHipHop News) Comedian Katt Williams and embattled rap boss Marion "Suge" Knight have been ordered to pay a photographer $35,000 for destroying her camera.
The Death Row Records co-founder and Williams were charged with robbery in connection to the incident outside a studio in Beverly Hills in 2014 when they were accused of grabbing a camera belonging to a female photographer as she attempted to take pictures of them.
The snapper, Leslie Redden, launched an assault lawsuit in 2015 and according to reports, Williams and Knight have been ordered to pay her medical bills and damages.
The two friends were charged with felony robbery in 2014 over the alleged incident. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
However, Williams cut a no-jail deal and pleaded no contest to one felony count of second-degree robbery.
He was handed three years of formal probation and ordered to attend 54 weeks of anger management classes in April.
The robbery case was delayed multiple times as Knight struggled with health complications stemming from a shooting incident at a party in 2014, and last year, it was postponed until after his murder trial, which is scheduled to begin in January.
The Death Row Records co-founder is awaiting trial on charges of murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run following a dispute in Compton, California in January 2015, when he struck and killed his friend Terry Carter before injuring actor Cle Sloan as he tried to race away.
Knight has pleaded not guilty in the murder case, insisting he acted in self-defense.
