Kendrick Lamar, Chance The Rapper, Cardi B & More Selected For The Root 100 List

(AllHipHop News)The Root is back with its annual list of the most influential African Americans between the ages of 25 and 45. Several Hip Hop stars made the Top 15 entries of the 2018 edition.

Grammy-winning emcee Kendrick Lamar came in at #9. He was followed by Chicago wordsmith Chance The Rapper at #12 and “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker Cardi B at #14.

Tarana Burke, the founder of the #MeToo movement, was placed at #1. Black Panther director Ryan Coogler (#2) and Georgia Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (#3) were among the top selections.

Additionally, musicians Donald Glover, Beyoncé, and Janelle Monáe made 2018's The Root 100 List. Other notable figures - such as LeBron James, Virgil Abloh, Serena Williams, Issa Rae, Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Tiffany Haddish, Colin Kaepernick, Jordan Peele, Cheo Hodari Coker, Van Lathan, Kid Fury, Jemele Hill - were recognized as well.
