(AllHipHop News) Khalid's highly anticipated sophomore album, Free Spirit, is scheduled for release on April 5 via RCA Records. Two days before the project hits streamers, a special companion motion picture of the same name will premiere in theaters worldwide.

The movie was conceived by Khalid and director Emil Nava, and it's described as a direct creative parallel to the singer's new LP. Fans in attendance at the special one-night screenings of Free Spirit will also get to listen to the album and exclusive commentary from Khalid where he covers the importance of each song.

Dizzy Fae, Judah Lang, Estefania Preciado, Jahking Guillory, and Edi Gathegi also appear in the 95-minute film. The global event distribution company Trafalgar Releasing is selling tickets to see Khalid: Free Spirit at freespiritthemovie.net.

"It's really exciting to be collaborating with Khalid and the teams at Right Hand Music Group, RCA Records, and Sony Music on this unique theatrical event. This is the first ever in cinema global listening party and we are thrilled to bring this to Khalid’s millions of fans. This is also Khalid’s big screen debut. We believe that Free Spirit will be an unforgettable experience," says Kymberli Frueh, SVP for Acquisitions for Trafalgar Releasing.
