Cleveland, Ohio bred rapper Kid Cudi has dropped off of Lady Gagas Monsters Ball Tour, the rapper said in a statement.
According to Kid Cudi, the tour schedule is interfering with his ability to record his new album, in addition to new acting commitments.
"Kid Cudi has decided to take an early leave of absence from Lady Gaga's Monster Ball tour, in order to balance his schedule surrounding the recording of his next album and acting commitments," a rep for the rapper said in a statement. "Cudi does not want to disappoint his fans and will move forward with his individual show dates in December and throughout the month of January."
The news comes on the heels of a December 12 incident in which the rapper assaulted a fan during a Vancouver, Canada after someone threw a wallet on the stage during his performance.
Cudi picked the wallet up and threw in back in the crowd. When a fan named Michael Sharpe caught the wallet and threw it back on the stage, Cudi hopped off the stage and punched Sharpe.
Last October, rapper Kanye West dropped off of the tour, after the now infamous incident with Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
Kid Cudi, born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, is on the road promoting his album Man on the Moon: The End of Day, which was released in September.
Sharpe has stated that he will not press charges against Kid Cudi for the assault.
