Kim Kardashian's Legal Career Blowing Up With The Release Of Another Prisoner

Kim's making some power moves when it comes to criminal justice.

(AllHipHop News) Kim Kardashian and her legal team have negotiated the release of another prisoner.

Kim, who is currently studying to be a lawyer, announced on Friday that she had secured the freedom of Jeffrey Stringer, a low-level drug offender who has spent more than two decades behind bars.

“We did it again! Had the best call w/this lovely family & my attorney @msbkb who just won release for their loved one Jeffrey in Miami,” the mother-of-three wrote on Twitter, alongside a snap of the 47-year-old surrounded by his loved ones. “He served 22 years of a life sentence for low-level drug case. He served too much time but it gives me so much joy to fund this life-saving work.”

Jeffrey was convicted for drug possession when he was 25 but was given a life sentence because he had two prior drug charges. He will be released Monday, according to reports.

Kim has spent the last year helping inmates she believes were given too harsh a prison sentence seek clemency.

In 2018, she successfully petitioned U.S. President Donald Trump to commute the life sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, a non-violent drug offender.

After Alice was released, a major piece of criminal justice reform legislation, the First Step Step Act, was passed by U.S. Congress and signed into law by Trump in December.

The bill reduces mandatory minimum sentences and expands on “good time credits” for well-behaved prisoners looking for shorter sentences.
