(AllHipHop News) Rapper Kodak Black has changed his name ahead of a "fresh start."
The "Tunnel Vision" hitmaker was born Dieuson Octave but he now plans to go by Bill K. Kapri. He'll still go by Kodak Black professionally.
The name change request comes just weeks after the rap star was sentenced to serve a year behind bars for a number of felony counts following a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team raid on a Florida home he was sharing with friends in January.
Meanwhile, a child services investigation linked to the raid has been dropped.
Kodak was under investigation because there was a child in the house at the time of his arrest.
The 20-year-old could be released by October and will not have to face any more probation if his behavior behind bars is exemplary, but the rap star still has another legal woe hanging over him.
He was indicted by a grand jury in October and freed on bail on December 1.
Kodak faces up to 30 years behind bars if convicted in that case.
