(AllHipHop News) Lauryn Hill has cancelled a string of tour dates due to "production issues" following fan complaints about a gig in Toronto, Canada.
Canadian fans of the R&B superstar complained about sound issues, and her notorious tardiness at her concert last week, with many upset that they only saw a 45 minute set.
The former Fugee has now cancelled a string of upcoming shows on her The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th Anniversary Tour, and postponed three others.
"Due to unforeseen production issues, a select number of dates on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th Anniversary Tour have been postponed or cancelled," a representative of her promoters Live Nation said in a statement. "For postponed shows, tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date."
Gigs in Charlotte, and Raleigh, both in North Carolina, and St. Petersburg, Florida scheduled for this week have all been pulled, as have performances in Virginia Beach and Bristow in Virginia and in Holmdel, New Jersey.
Shows in Nashville, Tennessee, Atlanta, Georgia, and Miami, Florida, have all been put back until October.
Fans were unsparing in their criticism of the Toronto gig, with one, Jennifer Azevedo, writing on Twitter: "So disappointed in the Lauryn Hill concert tonight. Made fans wait over an hour and then performed for 45 mins max. Could barely recognize the songs she attempted to sing. Cash grab for sure. Don’t waste your money on her!"
Lauryn has reportedly lined up a star-studded list of guests for the tour of North America and Europe, including M.I.A., A$AP Rocky, Nas, Big Boi, Santigold, SZA, Dave Chappelle, and Busta Rhymes.
