(AllHipHop News) Durk Derrick Banks (aka Lil Durk) alarmed some of his social media followers when he posted a message that read, "Turning myself in tomorrow." According to reports, the Chicago-raised rapper was booked into police custody in Atlanta on Thursday.
The APD had warrants for Banks in connection to a February 5 shooting outside the Varsity restaurant. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and unlawful association with a criminal street gang.
Alexander Witherspoon, 23, was taken to the Atlanta Medical Center for surgery after being shot in the thigh. Investigators claimed the incident was captured on surveillance cameras from the Varsity and a nearby cigar bar.
Apparently, Durk's name is not mentioned in the police report about the case even though law enforcement officials insist the OTF leader was somehow involved in the situation. The 26-year-old Signed to the Streets 3 creator released the new track "Turn Myself In" on May 30.
